Our Beginnings in Birmingham, England

Grace Nursery Limited was established on the 14th October 2016 through Mount Zion Christian Community Church. To provide high-quality education, care, and support to the children and their families within the community.

Here at Grace Nursery Limited, we are committed to providing a safe and stimulating learning environment following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), both indoors and outdoors for all children within the local community, regardless of culture, ethnicity, race, religion, or disability, empowering and strengthening the children and their families by working in a multi-professional manner.

Mission Statement

Grace Nursery Limited puts children and families at the heart of everything we do working in partnership with parents and other professionals to ensure all children are empowered to achieve their full potential and have high aspirations.

We will do this by delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a flexible, creative manner that responds to the needs, interests, and abilities of each child, encouraging their curiosity, self-motivation, and independence.

We believe that children should be stimulated and encouraged to develop confidence in their learning while having an awareness of their personal and social development through accessing an appropriate and balanced curriculum while adhering to Birmingham City Councils safeguarding and “Prevent Duty” procedures.

Why Choose Grace Nursery Limited?

We understand the importance of settling a child to make them feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. Therefore, we work with parents and carers to devise a settling programme that caters to individual needs. We aim to make our nursery as homely as possible to promote comfort and security together with a sense of belonging and trust for each child and parent.

Parental Partnership

At Grace Nursery Limited, we respect parents as their child's first and most enduring caregivers and educators. Children need to witness the good relationships formed between parents and practitioners.

For babies and toddlers, we provide parents with day sheets for detailed notes about their child's time at the nursery and facilitate a two-way communication channel between the children's worlds.

This is reinforced with home learning diaries, home observation sheets, and regular parental feedback opportunities. Additionally, our daily hand-over discussions and open-door policy invites parents to review their child's progress regularly.

Learning and Development

Grace Nursery Limited works in-line with the statutory framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. We adhere to all the requirements set out to make certain that children are receiving the best possible care and learning opportunities to meet their individual needs.

Between the ages of 0-2, we teach the three prime areas of the EYFS, which are the stepping stones for children to be happy, confident, and competent learners. When the kids reach 3-5 years old, we introduce them to the four specific areas of the EYFS.

We also work with outside agencies, such as health visitors, Area SENCO teams, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, etc. to ensure that the education, health, and care of all the children and their families who attend our setting is being met to the highest standard.

We assess a child's development throughout their time with us. Our team holds regular meetings with parents to share the progress and needs of their child whilst also gaining knowledge of their child's interests and abilities at home.

Formative assessment takes place throughout the time your child is with us. We create a learning journal for your child where our staff will observe, assess, plan, adapt to interests and needs to ensure each child is receiving a full and varied curriculum.

Progress reviews will take place twice a year during parent meetings where parents and staff will share knowledge, best practices, and concerns if any. When your child is between 2-3 years old, a multi-professional assessment will take place of your child's overall health and development.

The nursery works alongside local health visitors and parents to complete this assessment and ensure your child is developing and growing well. If there are any concerns, we can deal with these with early on, drawing support from outside agencies if needed to ensure future learning and development is supported and well-planned.
